Srinagar, May 7: Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Notably, security forces on Sunday eliminated five ferocious terrorists at Badigam area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. With the killing of these five terrorists in Shopian encounter, security forces have got a major success in the ‘Operation All Out’ as  Burhan Wani Gang has been wiped out.

Security forces including Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir police SOG and CRF personnel led a join operation and cordoned off the Badigam area of south Kashmir's Shopian district after getting a specific input of presence of five terrorists. As the search party reached near a house, security forces received bullets from the terrorists ensuing into the encounter. Immediately security forces retaliated heavily and eliminated five terrorists.

The five terrorists who were killed in the Shopian district were later identified as Saddam Hussain Padder, Bilal Ahmad Mohand, Adil Ahmed Malik, Tauseed Ahmad Sheikh and Mohammed Rafi Bhat. All these terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit. With Padder’s killing, all 10 terrorists, who appeared for the first time together along with Hizbul Mujahideen’s poster boy Burhan Wani in 2015, have been eliminated.

During the counter-terrorism operation, civilians also tried to protect the terrorists with pelting stones. In the incident, at least five civilians were also killed. Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured. The body of slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. The operation was called-off immediately after all 5 terrorists were neutralized.

Jammu and Kashmir’s SSP, Shailendra Mishra said, “The encounter broke out during a combing and search operation in the area by the security forces. Two security personnel were also injured in the encounter. "The security forces repeatedly urged the terrorists to surrender, however they refused and kept on firing at the security forces," he added.

The picture of 10 Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists at an apple orchard had created a stir in Jammu and Kashmir as they were touted by insurgent groups as ‘Kashmir’s new boys’ who had taken up arms. Of the 10, Padder was the only one alive, Shailendra Mishra noted. “Padder and his aides were involved in a number of civilian killings and attacks on security forces besides instigating youth to join the terrorist network,” the SSP concluded.

Director General of Police, Jammu & Kashmir, SP Vaid in a tweet said, “Encounter concluded at Badigam Zainpora Shopian, 5 bodies of terrorists recovered. Well done boys - Army/ CRPF/J&K Police.”

The killing of five terrorists comes a day after security forces gunned down three terrorists after a fierce encounter that took place in the Chattabal area of Srinagar. Earlier, in the last week, Hizbul’s top commander Sameer Ahmed Bhat alias 'Sameer Tiger' along with his close associate Aaquib Mushtaq was eliminated by security forces after a fierce encounter that took place in Drabgam area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
