Progressive states will suffer from 15th Finance Commission’s term of reference: AP Finance Minister

Amaravati, May 7: Objecting the terms of reference adopted by 15th Finance Commission, Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that commissions policies will affect the financial health of 11 progressive States. Speaking to the media on the backdrop of Finance Minister’s meet in the state capital, the minister informed that the minister representing various state government will discuss and deliberate on the issues and reservations about functioning of15th Finance Commission headed by NK Singh.

When asked about the political significance of the meeting, the minister claimed that the no political discussions will be held and described it as the extension of the Finance Minister’s meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram. Accusing central government of interfering with Finance Commission, the TDP leader pointed out that independent constitutional body should not be used for political reasons.

Referring to the implementation of Central government schemes, Ramakrishnudu underlined that state government will have to bear the additional 30% financial burden with a changed ratio of 60:40. He reiterated that as per the existing term of reference, the state will have to manage the amount of ₹3,000 crore per month.
