Security forces bust terror module in JK; nabs 4 terrorists and seven associates

Srinagar, May 8: Security forces on Monday busted a terror module in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested at least four terrorists and seven over-ground workers (OGWs). Notably, the arrest comes a day after five ferocious terrorists were eliminated in an encounter that took place at Badigam area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. 

At least four terrorists and seven over-ground workers (OGWs) were arrested during separate raids led by a joint team of SOG Baramulla, 46RR, 53BN CRPF and 52RR of the army at Drangbal, Old Town Baramulla, and Sopore after receiving a specific input. These terrorists were involved in the killing of three youth in Khanpora on April 30.

The terrorists were identified as Nasir Ahmad Mochi, Bilal Ahmad Najar, Aijaz Ahmad Gojri and Nadeem Kalia alias Ustad. While the six out of seven OGWs were identified as Owais Rashid Bhat, Ozair Ahmad Bhat, Ameen Bhat, Muzamil Bashir, Sharif Bashir Bhat and Nayeem Abdulla. The arms and ammunition including a pistol with an alto car Alto car (JK01J-0010) were seized by the forces.

On April 30, bullet-riddled bodies of Asghar Khan, Asif and Haseeb Khan of old Town Baramulla were recovered. On Sunday, security forces eliminated five terrorists at Badigam area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. With the killing of these five terrorists in Shopian encounter, security forces have got a major success in the ‘Operation All Out’ as Burhan Wani Gang has been wiped out.

The five terrorists who were killed in the Shopian district were later identified as Saddam Hussain Padder, Bilal Ahmad Mohand, Adil Ahmed Malik, Tauseed Ahmad Sheikh and Mohammed Rafi Bhat. All these terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit. With Padder’s killing, all 10 terrorists, who appeared for the first time together along with Hizbul Mujahideen’s poster boy Burhan Wani in 2015, have been eliminated.

Earlier, in the last week, Hizbul’s top commander Sameer Ahmed Bhat alias 'Sameer Tiger' along with his close associate Aaquib Mushtaq was eliminated by security forces after a fierce encounter that took place in Drabgam area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Indian security forces have led a massive war against terrorism and terrorists in the inner parts of Jammu-Kashmir and forward areas. Anti-Terrorism operation is continued with such a speed that more than 206 terrorists were eliminated by Indian troops last year.
