Justice on fast mode: Jharkhand HC to take 1000 cases on speedy trial from next month

Ranchi, May 9: In order to speed up the Judiciary System in the state, the second phase of the Speedy Trial will start from June. The second phase of the Speedy Trial will have 1000 cases. Under this, all districts have been given the target.

DGP DK Pandey, ADG CID Prashant Kumar Singh through the video conferencing informed the SP of all the districts how they can choose the cases for Speedy Trial.

According to the information, on May 2, a meeting was held with the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. During the meeting, it was decided that 100 Special Judges will be given the responsibility of hearing for the Speedy Trial. By the last week of May, the list of 1000 cases selected under the Speedy Trial will be handed over to the Jharkhand High Court.

“After taking steps for disposal of 501 cases last year, the judiciary has now decided to take up another 1,000 cases for speedy disposal. The hearing in the cases would start from mid-July,” said Ambuj Nath, Registrar General of Jharkhand High Court.

Under the Speedy Trial, all the cases relating to Arms Act, SC-ST act, misdemeanor, POXO Act, Explosive Substances Act, NDPS Act, Corruption Act, Embezzlement of Government Property or Money, Fraudulence, Loot and all the cases in which the CCA Instructions have been given to prepare the list of chargesheeted cases related to the action taken under it.

During the video conferencing, all the SPs were instructed to make a team of DSP Headquarters, Public Prosecutor, Assistant Public Prosecution of the districts under their supervision. The team will certainly supervise each scandal.

500 cases were selected in the first phase of the Speedy Trial. The speedy trial of the speedy trial is going to be positive, this time this will be the speedy trial of 1000 cycles. After getting the list of cases from the district level, the CID will be reviewed at the level. After this the entire list will be sent to the Home Department. In the first phase of the Speedy Trial, the police has succeeded in punishing the accused in most cases.
