Bengaluru fake voter cards: BJP panel to meet EC

Bengaluru, May 9: Amidst the political mud-slinging, taking a serious note of the development in Bengaluru, BJP panel which includes Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, JP Nadda and Dharmendra Pradhan will meet officials of Election commission on the backdrop of fake voter cards found in a Bengaluru flat.
 
Earlier in the day, Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv Kumar in a media interaction revealed that near about 9,746 voter IDs were spotted in a flat owned by Manjula Nanjamuri. Responding to voter cards row, Congress blamed BJP for plotting fraudulent tactics. The ruling party even named a person called Rakesh who happens to be the supporter of BJP.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Chikkamagaluru rally, said that Congress’s dirty tricks will not prevent Congress party from humiliating defeat in Karnataka. Meanwhile, countering the charges levelled by Congress, Rakesh held Congress supporters responsible for voter card conspiracy. Speaking to the media, the BJP supporter said that Congress candidate Munirathna Naidu who is contesting from Rajarajeshwari was involved in the voter card racket. He denied the charges of any association with the flat owner. According to media reports, during EC’s raid, five laptops, one printer and other stuff related to the election was seized by EC officials.
