PM Modi calls for good cooperation of SCO member countries towards security, economic development and connectivity

Qingdao, June 11: The Plenary Session of the SCO Summit witnessed many countries joining the blueprint of the brighter shared future including India. PM Narendra Modi, on behalf of 125 Crore Indians, sat with a pride to commit India’s full cooperation to a successful outcome of the Summit.


 

Modi remarked, "We have again reached a stage where physical and digital connectivity is changing the definition of geography. Therefore, connectivity with our neighborhood and in the SCO region is our priority."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called for meaningful cooperation of SCO member countries towards security, economic development, and connectivity in the region. In this respect, Modi also coined a new acronym, Secure.

 

During the SCO meeting, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s stand on the Belt and Road Initiative of China and said that India welcomes the connectivity projects that are inclusive, sustainable, transparent and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.

The SCO summit which concluded on Sunday adopted the Qingdao declaration to combat terrorism, separatism, and extremism. Our correspondent reports, Modi returned home last night after a 2-day long visit to China.

During his visit, PM Modi participated in the 18th Summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). This was India’s first participation in the SCO after becoming its full-fledged member last year.
