Don’t air controversial debate on Thoothukudi: TN Chief Minster Palaniswami to media

Chennai, June 12: Expressing concern over the content of television debates on Thoothukudi incidents, Tamil Nadu chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami advised media outlet not to organize debates on Thoothukudi which is currently under the judicial probe.

Responding to the charges on television channel Puthiya Thalaimurai, where the media outlet came under the scanner for convening panel discussion which resulted into verbal spat between two political parties, the Chief Minister clarified that state government would take the final call after proper investigation. Palaniswami suggested that media should not instigate the sentiments of people which might turn into a to law and order.

Earlier, opposition parties like Congress and DMK  along with several Journalist organizations registered a protest against the action taken against the channel for airing the controversial debate on raging issue of Thoothukudi firing.
