Police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said, “The attack occurred as employees were leaving their offices early for Ramadan.” "A suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest at the entrance gate of the ministry killing and injuring a number of the employees of the ministry," Stanikzai added.

The second explosion took place in northern Kunduz Province. As many as 15 members of the Afghan security forces were killed while ten others were injured. Of 15 members of the Afghan security forces, 10 were soldiers and five were policemen. In eastern Ghazni Province, a roadside bomb struck a minibus, killing six people and injuring other three.
