Bastar Police catches collars of Urban Naxal Abhay Nayak spreading dreadful Maoist ideology

New Delhi, June 13: Bastar Zone Police of Chhattisgarh was successful to arrest ‘Urban Naxal’, a suspected spokesperson of banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) (CPI (M)) on Tuesday. Suspect Abhay Devdas Nayak used to write press releases for the organization.

 

Hailing from Bengaluru, he came to Bastar to propagate Maoist ideologies. “This is a big success for Bastar Police. On interrogation by Bastar Police, he admitted to working for Maoists” says Bastar Police

Bastar Police also said, “Abhay used to propagate the hollow Maoist ideology in social media through his blogs which he managed under the name 'India Micro Finance’. He used to document Maoist literature and through his blogs, he started to establish contact with terrorists as well during his foreign travels.”

Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Vivekananda Sinha said, “Nayak would use modern technological techniques to keep his identity secret and actively did propaganda for the party via online pieces, press releases, and writings with the aim to bring the youth into the Maoist fold.”

Police have captured laptop, pen drives, hard disk, Maoist literature from his Bengaluru residence which unveiled that Abhay had constant touch with the Maoists leaders like Gudsa Usendi, Vikalp, Shashi Patnaik from Odisha and several others whom he was in touch via e-mails.

 

He was writing blogs for the site www.naxalrevolution.blogspot.com launched in 2006 after the death of Saket Ranjan aiming to spread strongly the Maoist ideology and outlawed organizations among the youths and misleads them by posting articles against police and government. He had soon established himself as a crucial link called "open cadre" of the urban network of the banned organization.
