Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao meets PM Modi, seeks help for new zonal system

New Delhi, June 15: Ahead of the crucial meeting of NITI aayog, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this meeting, Chandrasekhar Rao briefed Modi about the ongoing developments in the state.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister urged Modi to clear the long pending Kaleshwaram irrigation project, transfer of defense land, crucial railway projects Rao also sought financial aid for the proposed Information Technology and Investment Region.

The Chief Minister requested Modi to address the important matter of new zonal system crafted by the state government. Rao appealed central government to approve the project along with a new Presidential Order in order to mend the older zonal system.

The new zonal system has been finalized in order to provide 95 percent reservation for locals. On May 27, KCR cabinet had cleared the new zonal system categorizing 31 districts into seven zones and two multi-zones.
