Makers of Marathi movie Farzand meets Maha Minister Vinod Tawde; demands Prime time slot in Mumbai

Mumbai, June 15: Makers of Marathi movie, Farzand on Thursday called on Minister Vinod Tawde and voiced concern over non-availability of prime time slots in Mumbai. Informing about the meeting, Tawde who heads cultural affairs portfolio took to Twitter and congratulated producers for the grand success of the period drama.

Minister assured that state will address the plight of makers for getting prime time shows in the state capital. Earlier, political parties like Maharashtra Navnirman Sena and NCP had staged protest raising the demand of Primetime in theatres in Mumbai.

Farzand is the Marathi war drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, which depicts the epic surgical strike by the Soldiers of Chhatrapati Shivaji under the leadership of Kondaji Farzand. The film stars Ankit Mohan Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Sameer Dharmadhikari in pivotal roles.

The project is helmed by young filmmaker Digpal Lanjekar. On June 1, Farzand opened with rave reviews with decent box-office collection. Anirban Sarkar in association with Swami Samarth Creations LLP has bankrolled the flick. Anil Thadani’s Aa film is presenting the war-drama.
