Ranchi, June 16: Jharkhand is on the mode to catch the collars of those who are fake, ineligible ration cards and also to give them who do not have ration cards, cancelling ration cards of those who are not using for a long and avail the facility of Public Distribution System (PDS) to the needy.

Using the mantra of ‘Name and Shame’ Jharkhand government will catch those people who are from very well to do families but still are taking disadvantage of it by using the facility of PDS. Many are there who are in real need of PDS but they do not have cards.

The idea is such that to write the names of the cardholder in bold block letters along with their card numbers on the doors of their house.

"We are planning to name and shame well-off households by writing their name and ration card number in bold letters on the main gate of their residences so that they voluntarily surrender their ration cards paving way for others to get benefits of PDS," said Food and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Roy.

Along with this, every block will have its ‘Grain Bank.’ Block headquarters will have 5 quintals of grains while Panchayat Headquarters will have one quintal grains as their stock.
