Address issues under AP Reorganisation Act: Chandra Babu urges center

New Delhi, June 18: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu on Sunday reiterated that central government must address the pending issues under the AP Reorganisation Act. Speaking at the fourth edition of NITI Aayog’s governing council meeting here, Babu sought central government’s assistance to clear the key development projects.

The Chief Minister requested center to extended support for multipurpose irrigation Polavaram project. He sought special funds for land acquisition and relief and rehabilitation package. Referring to the matter of new state capital, Naidu mentioned that center should back state government for the construction of proposed greenfield capital at Amaravati.

Expressing concern over the problem of revenue deficit, the Chief Minister underlined that efforts are not being taken in order to settle the on revenue deficit in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP President also demanded a clarification about the non-availability of Rs. 350 crore aid especially allocated for backward areas development. The TDP President also took a dig at center for not fulfilling poll promises.
