Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy calls on Modi; seeks support for Cauvery and farm loan waiver

New Delhi, June 18: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought central government’s support on the issues of Cauvery Water Management and proposed farm loan waiver. During NITI Aayog’s meeting, the Chief Minister had requested center to back loan waiver scheme of the state government.
According to media reports, HDK expressed concern about Water Resources Ministry’s latest order regarding the functioning of Cauvery Water Management board. He requested Prime Minister Modi to review the order to safeguard the interest of both the states.
Earlier, Kumaraswamy met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Water Resource Minister Nitin Gadkari and discussed key issues.
