Srinagar, June 19: Soon after BJP pulled out itself from Jammu and Kashmir government alliance over its ally PDP’s soft approach towards terrorism and stone pelters on Friday, CM Mehbooba Mufti submitted her resignation to the Governor N N Vohra.

PDP spokesperson Naeem Akhtar confirmed that CM Mehbooba Mufti has submitted her resignation to the Governor N N Vohra and further added that the party meeting will be held on 5 pm today. Meanwhile, another PDP Spokesperson Rafi Ahmad Mir said, “We tried our best to run the government with BJP. This had to happen and this is a surprise for us because we did not have any indication about their decision.”

On the other side, senior Congress leader Ghumab Nabi Azad said that they won’t form any alliance with PDP. He said, “Whatever has happened is good. People of Jammu and Kashmir will get some relief. BJP ruined Kashmir and have now pulled out, maximum number of civilian and army men died during these 3 years. That question does not arise on forming alliance with PDP.”

Shiv Sena’s senior leader Sanjay Raut said, “This alliance was anti-national & unnatural. Our party chief had said that this alliance won't work out. If BJP had continued with it they would have had to answer in 2019 Lok Sabha election.”

Earlier in the day, BJP’s National secretary Ram Madhav held a press conference and informed about the decision of the party. He said, “BJP has pulled out itself of Jammu and Kashmir government alliance after repeated attacks on forces and civilians along with soft approach of PDP towards terrorism.”
