CM Vasundhara Raje distributes loan waiver certificates; farmers in Rajasthan finally gets massive relief

Jaipur, June 2: Fulfilling the promise and benefitting the farmers of Rajasthan, CM Vasundhara Raje on Thursday launched a Rs 8,500 crore farm loan waiver scheme.

 

Notably, CM Vasundhara Raje distributed loan waiver certificates worth up to Rs 50,000 each to farmers at an event in Banswara city. On this occasion, she also distributed Rs 50,000 each as new loans to several farmers.

After distributing loan waiver certificates, CM Vasundhara Raje said that BJP government is the government in the state that had waived off crop loans up to Rs 50,000 whereas the last two governments at the Centre had waived farm loans of up to Rs 10,000 only.


The Chief Minister also claimed that the BJP government-led by her had earlier waived off pending interest and penalty on overdue loan for borrowings by small and marginal farmers till September 30, 2017.


CM Raje also added that Rajasthan was progressing towards PM Modi’s dream of doubling farm incomes by 2022, adding that the state government purchased crops worth Rs 8,900 crore at support price for the first ever time. “By the end of this year, we would have given interest-free loans worth up to Rs 80,000 crore, which would be the highest in the country,” the CM added.

The chief minister, in the end, also claimed that the state had set up a farm loan relief commission, where debt-ridden farmers can put up their claims.

In the month of April this year, CM Vasundhara Raje’s government announced a loan waiver scheme wherein for farmers under which crop loan of up to 50,000 rupees will be waived as per the budget. The move costs Rs 8,000 crore to the State exchequer.
