Amaravati, June 20: Chandra Babu Naidu’s key aid Parakala Prabhakar on Tuesday resigned from the post of Advisor (Communications) to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Prabhakar who is the husband of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was annoyed with the allegations levelled by the leaders of principle opposition party YSR Congress.

In an official letter, Prabhakar mentioned that his integrity was challenged only because of his family members belongs to the different political party. He opined that his presence as advisor might weaken the ongoing protest against the central government’s unfair treatment with the coastal state.

Earlier, YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy accused Prabhakar of orchestrating backchannel talks with center against the interest of Andhra Pradesh. Taking exceptions to Jagan’s jibe, the advisor slammed YSR Congress Chief for unnecessary linking of personal and professional relations.

On March 16, TDP had parted away with BJP on the issues of special category status to Andhra Pradesh, but the Chief Minister continued with Prabhakar. A former members Praja Rajyam party, headed by famous actor and Politician Chiranjeevi was appointed as an Advisor (Communications) to Naidu in July 2014 after the victory of TDP-BJP alliance.
