Kamal Haasan meets EC for Makkal Needhi Maiam's official registration

New Delhi, June 20: Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan today met Deputy Election Commissioner, Chandra Bhushan for the official registration of his newly founded outfit Makkal Needhi Maiam.
Speaking to the media, the 63-year-old maverick actor informed that MNM has completed all the procedures and submitted required documents for the official registration. He further added that after due verification Election Commission will take the final call on party recognition.
Responding to a query about the party's symbol, the MNM Chief said that nothing has been finalized but assured that internal forum will finalize the same.

On February 22, amidst much fanfare, Superstar Kamal Haasan launched his much-awaited political outfit 'Makkal Needhi Maiam'. In an emotional appeal, the Ulaganayagan urged people to join hands to make Tamil Nadu free from social evils like corruption, caste and religion-based discrimination.
The national award winning actor maintained that his new political venture would break all established outdated notions in a present-day political system with the help of public participation.
