New Delhi, June 21: As the Surya shines over the clouds, people have come together performing ‘Suryanamaskar’ pledging to stay fit and healthy. As the fitness initiative #HumFitTohIndiaFit is making news with everyone coming together to perform yoga, here are glimpses of yoga performed at various parts of India marking this day as a day of fitness, good health, and calm mind.

The state of Kolkata collaborated with Art of Living and performed yoga. The hour-long session of enriching the mind, body, and soul was conducted by the representatives from The Art of Living. Coming together and performing yoga saw a collaboration of not just the entities by brought together people at a platform of unity and togetherness.

Initiating the need to conduct yoga sessions to rejuvenate the mind and soul, women in Andhra Pradesh came out in large number to mark the international Yoga Day. Women need yoga more regularly as they undergo various activities and the multitasking at times makes a thing hectic and chaotic which needs a calm mind. Therefore this Yoga session by Andhra Pradesh marked as a day for rejuvenating the women.

 
 
As India embraces the yogi avatar on this day, the world salutes the divyangs showing utmost zeal and passion to perform yoga and take ahead the legacy of being fit and healthy.

 

Embracing ancient exercises of Indian sages, yoga is a journey which brings people close from ‘me’ to ‘we’ and therefore the monks and various saints in Bihar marked the Yoga day by embracing Yoga in Bodhgaya. Calmness, serene and tranquil nature is what suits well with the yogi’s and the monks and therefore Bihar performing yoga is what the nation awaits.


 

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday led hundreds of yoga enthusiasts as they practiced 'asanas' on the fourth edition of the International Yoga Day. Hundreds had flocked to the sprawling Raj Bhawan that opened its gates to commoners to participate on the occasion. Addressing the gathering before the commencement of the yoga routines, Adityanath said that in order to remain disease free, the practice of yoga was very fruitful.

Even Tripura state marked the International Yoga Day with Union Minister Anupriya Patel joining the Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb pledging to make yoga an integral part of our lives.
