New Delhi, June 25: Supreme Court has released a roster which allocates the cases to the judges. This roster will come into effect from July 2 when the apex court reopens after summer vacations.

The roster, released on Sunday notifies that the bench headed Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra will hear all public interest litigations, besides pleas relating to social justice, elections, habeas corpus and contempt of court.

Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who is the senior-most judge after the chief justice following the retirement of Justice Chelameswar on July 22, will deal with labour laws, indirect taxes, personal law, and company law cases.

Earlier, a roster was released in February this year after Justices Chelameswar, Gogoi, M.B. Lokur, and Kurian Joseph held an unprecedented press meet in January questioning the allocation of sensitive PIL petitions and crucial cases to judges junior to them.

The notification lists the matters that will be heard by benches headed by the chief justice and 10 other judges.

The other judges are Gogoi, Lokur, Joseph, A.K. Sikri, S.A. Bobde, N.V. Ramana, Arun Mishra, A.K. Goel, R.F. Nariman and A.M. Sapre.
