Netflix to present new series on Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children

Mumbai, June 30: International streaming giant Netflix is all set to launch a special series on Salman Rushdie's famous novel Midnight's Children. This will be the adaptation of British Indian author’s bestseller fictional work. As quoted by Hollywood Reporter, this series will depict the fascinating account of India's evolution from British colonialism to independence.

For Midnight's Children, Rushdie received several international awards such as 1981 Booker Prize, James Tait Memorial Prize. Erik Barmack, VP Netflix international originals termed Rushdie’s Midnight's Children as intriguing and quite relevant to the India of today.

“I am absolutely delighted that Midnight’s Children will have a new life on Netflix, and greatly look forward to working with them to help create it," the 71-year-old author said in a statement. Responding to the announcement, the internationally acclaimed author took to Twitter and expressed happiness over the latest offering of Netflix.
