EC institutes enquiry to review electoral roll of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, June 4: Election Commission has deployed two teams in order to sort out the fake names in the electoral roll list. The Election Commission (EC) ordered a probe into allegations of large-scale discrepancies in the voters’ list of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.


 

EC order issued in the evening stated that teams will visit Assembly seats of Narela, Bhojpur, Hoshangabad and Seoni-Malwa. “If a deliberate mistake is detected, the responsibility shall be fixed so as to initiate appropriate action,” the Commission’s order stated.

EC has also ordered to assess field verification status that is house to house survey, check demographically if any duplicate names are there. Election Commision has also asked the teams to suggest for the corrective measures and to help in deleting the duplicate names if found any.

 

EC has said to find out errors in the list and if found any then take necessary actions or steps and find out how it happened.

The teams will reach the assigned Assembly Constituency today and carry out the assigned work.

The two teams have been asked to submit their report to the Commission by 7th June 2018.
