Mumbai, June 5: Amidst the strained relationship between two NDA partners, BJP President Amit Shah is all set to meet Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray at his residence Matoshree. As a part of BJP’s outreach drive "Sampark For Samarthan" ahead of the 2019 elections, Shah will hold talks with Thackeray.

Under this campaign, the BJP chief had met eminent personalities like former Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag, Cricketer Kapil Dev, Constitution expert Subhash Kashyap, former Chief Justice of India R C Lahoti and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and spoke on the achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the center.

Confirming the development, senior leader and editor of Samana, a mouthpiece of Shiv Sena Sanjay Raut said that Shah’s request has been accepted by the Shiv Sena Chief and both the leaders will meet on June 6. This is seen as the strategic move adopted by BJP to pacify the sulking NDA ally after the befitting Victory in Palghar Lok Sabha by poll.

Both the leaders would discuss the future of BJP-Shivsena alliance in Maharashtra. Yesterday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked party members to gear-up for the upcoming general elections and state assembly polls irrespective of Shiv Sena’s decision on the pre-poll pact.
