Makers of Kaala to challenge Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce’s ban

Chennai, June 5: Makers of Rajanikanth’s Kaala has decided to challenge the ban imposed by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). According to media reports actor, Dhanush who is presenting the Superstar’s high octane socio-political drama has moved to Karnataka High Court with a writ petition against the film body. The petitioner also requested for a court order regarding the security of theatres who are willing to screen the film.

The national award-winning actor who was in the Hyderabad for promotional activity said that state government will ensure the hassle-free exhibition of Kaala. Earlier, annoyed with the comments made by Rajanikanth on Cauvery issue, Pro-Kannada outfits had asked Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to boycott Rajani’s latest outing.

Kaala will hit the screen on June 7 in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. The project is helmed by veteran movie maker Pa. Ranjith and bankrolled by actor Dhanush, under the banner of Wunderbar Films in association with Lyca Productions, a leading production house down south. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, and Anjali Patil in a pivotal role.
