Maintaining dignity of the people by ensuring houses by 2022, PM Modi interacts with beneficiaries of Awas Yojana
New Delhi, June 5: Slating that the housing project is linked with the dignity of people and ensuring household for everyone by the year 2022 marking the 75 years of independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday interacted with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) through video conference.
Known for winning hearts of the people, PM Narendra Modi has been quite interactive and ensures friendly gesture while talking to the beneficiaries. PMAY, projected as Housing For All Scheme, has been further bifurcated into two parts - PMAY (rural) and PMAY (urban).
In February this year, the Centre gave nod for the construction of over 1.86 lakh more affordable houses for urban poor under its urban housing scheme, taking the total number of houses to over 39.25 lakh. The Centre would build 2.95 crore houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural) in the country by 2022.
PM Modi while interacting with the beneficiaries said that because of the PMAY there have been many opportunities for employment and the government has also been working on skill development to enable faster and better quality construction of the houses.
Linking housing to the dignity of the people, PM Modi said that the government is focused to ensure more benefits to the women, divyang sisters and brothers, people from SC, ST, OBC and Minority communities get access to housing.
Implying on their mantra to use social media and technology at the best level, PM Modi further said that the housing sector is being invigorated with the latest technology. This is enabling faster construction of affordable houses for the poor in towns and villages.
Ensuring that there are no middlemen and avoid corruption in the system, the government has been working on to provide free housing sector so that the common man gets a house of their own. The NDA government has been working towards ensuring household to each and every person so that the 75th Independence day of the country is celebrated with great fervor and zeal.
Various people came in to discuss their benefits of getting a house and how it has been beneficial for them. Thanking the Prime Minister for this exemplary scheme, people have shown immense gratitude to the government.
