CBI wanted to book Modi-Shah in Ishrat Jahan case: Former Gujarat DG Vanzara

Ahmadabad, June 6: Former Gujarat top police officer DG Vanzara on Tuesday accused CBI of framing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case. The former Deputy Inspector General of Police who is out on bail claimed that several attempts were made to influence the investigation.

 

According to media reports, Vanzara’s pleader VD Gajjar reportedly claimed that the investigative agency was planning to book the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his close aide Amit Shah. Earlier, Vanzara had claimed that several attempts of secret interrogation were made against Modi.

Former ATS chief Vanzara was arrested for his connection with the alleged fake shootout where Ishrat Jahan, a 19-year-old girl from Mumbai along with her friends were shot dead by Gujarat anti-terrorist squad on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.
