Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepts resignation of YSR Congress MPs

New Delhi, June 6: After the gap of two months, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today accepted the resignation of five YSR Congress MP. The YSR lawmakers today called and Lok Sabha Chairman urged Mahajan to take a final call on long pending resignation issue. On this occasion, YSRCP MPs YV Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Varaprasad, P Mithun Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy were present.

On the last day of parliament’s session, YSR Congress MPs had tendered their resignations as a part of a protest against central government over the non-fulfillment of the demand of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Earlier on March 27, YSR Congress Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy had asked YSR Congress lawmakers to put their paper if Special Category Status not accorded to Andhra Pradesh.
