Army eliminates three Pakistani terrorists tried to sneak in Indian borders in JK

Srinagar, June 6: At least three Pakistani terrorists were gunned down and a major infiltration bid was foiled by the alert Army personnel after a fierce encounter that took place in Machhil sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir's frontier Kupwara district. The arms and ammunition along with the body of slain terrorists have been recovered from the encounter site.

 

Notably, the encounter comes 20 days after central government imposed a conditional ceasefire to stop anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir. Alert Army personnel foiled an infiltration attempt in Machhil sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir's frontier Kupwara district and eliminated three Pakistani terrorists.

After noticing suspicious movement along the LoC, the Army challenged three infiltrators but they opened fire which ensued in a fierce encounter. Three terrorists were eliminated and during the search operation, the body of slain ultras was recovered along with three rifles and other arms and ammunition.


However, the search operation is on in the area to sanitize the mountainous area and there is no report of any casualties on the Army side. The encounter comes at least twenty days after, the central government announced a conditional ceasefire to stop anti-terror operation on the request of Jammu and Kashmir’s CM Mehbooba Mufti. On May 26, security forces foiled a major infiltration bid and gunned down five Pakistani terrorists along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district of North Kashmir.
