Impressed by the elite innovative ideas of young India, PM Modi asserts India in entering the global start-up eco-system

New Delhi, June 6: Believing that the young blood of India can change the existing scenario of business with their innovative ideas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges people to come forward and contribute their startup ideas to create an innovative nation. Interacting with young entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves in the field of start-up, PM Modi said they are committed to harnessing of the demographic dividend.

Interacting with the youngsters through NaMo App, Prime Minister Modi asserted that India has distinguished itself in the global start-up eco-system; startups are no longer only in big cities. Smaller towns and villages are emerging as vibrant start-up centers.

Talking to the entrepreneurs from Bengaluru, PM Modi’s interaction with the young talents was a fruitful attempt. The entrepreneurs spoke of how the tax incentives from the Government of India have helped their team in the last few years. Due to Start-up India, they got a lot of valuable assistance from the Government. Due to start-up India, the companies are getting the platform to interact with leading manufacturers. 

Elaborating his thoughts on starting up a business, PM Modi shared his views saying that as an entity, it is understood that to start business funds are required and therefore the government has facilitated “fund of funds” for those with the shortage of money that will facilitate more innovate ideas. He also said that the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) platform has been linked to startup India.

 

Praising the efforts made by the young generation of India, PM Modi said, “Youngsters are talking about the idea of a Smart Anna Bhandar, which will help farmers.” “Our start-ups are growth engines. Today’s big companies were start-ups at some point. I urge the people of India to keep innovating. If we do not innovate, we will stagnate,” he said.

 

He added that there was a time when start-ups meant only digital and tech innovation but things have been changing and start-ups entrepreneurs could now be found in different fields. There have been ideas on developing and escalating the agriculture sector as the Start-Up India innovators have brought in Agriculture Grand Challenge which aims at changing the agricultural sector.

 

PM Modi elaborated saying that with the initiative of Make in India, 'Design in India' is also essential. Enhancing the need to bring changes in the handicraft sector, PM Modi urged innovators to promote the Handicrafts sector, art of tribal communities in Chhattisgarh which is invaluable. He insisted innovators in Chhattisgarh to think of ways to make these things more popular globally, through the world of start-ups. It will, therefore, give a global platform to tribal communities of Chhattisgarh.

 

Students in Tamil Nadu have come up with interesting ideas of conserving water and expressed their gratitude towards the governments Atal Tinkering Labs for helping them to a great level.

 

Lastly, Prime Minister Modi insisted to write the pioneering innovators who are about to change the existing business and technological scenario of India. Asserting people to keep on innovating new ideas, PM Modi said that the start-ups in India are growth engines. Today's big companies were start-ups at some point. Innovation is important for a better developed India.
