Bhopal, June 9: And the teams arrive with their reports that the Allegations of large-scale discrepancies in voters' list in Madhya Pradesh are no correct. The teams constituted by the Election Commission have submitted their preliminary fact-finding reports in the malfunctioning of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail machines during recent by-elections to Kairana and Bhandara-Gondiya Parliamentary Constituencies.


 

The Commission said the reports indicated that the malfunctioning of the machines was due to the failure of contrast sensor and length sensor. It said these errors are mainly caused by excessive exposure to illumination in the polling station.

The Commission has asked the manufacturers and the Technical Expert Committee, to suggest additional design improvements to prevent any excessive exposure to illumination in future.

Election Commission has deployed two teams in order to sort out the fake names in the electoral roll list. EC had ordered to assess field verification status that is house to house survey, check demographically if any duplicate names are there. Election Commission has also asked the teams to suggest for the corrective measures and to help in deleting the duplicate names if found any.

 

EC had said to find out errors in the list and if found any then take necessary actions or steps and find out how it happened.
