San Francisco, July 12: In order to keep a tap on reported video thefts, video-sharing and streaming giant YouTube has introduced a new security feature called Copyright Match tool.

This technological intervention will notify end user about the alleged stolen version of their original production.

As quoted by The Verge, the new interface will track stolen videos and relevant action will be initiated against the offender.

This facility will be made available to channels having 100,000 subscribers. This tool has been developed to trace full re-uploads of original content.  This will help copyright owners to protect their work.

According to the official statement, YouTube will scan other videos uploaded on the digital platform to check similar content. When there is a match, it will appear in the “matches” tab in the tool.
