CM Parrikar unveils Goa’s IT Policy to make a ‘DigiGoa’

Panaji, July 13: Goa has stepped into a new era of digitalization by unveiling it's IT Policy 2018 on Wednesday. The schemes framed under it for focusing on making Goa a vibrant destination for the information technology (IT) sector and to create employment opportunities for Goan youth.

 

CM Manohar Parrikar on his Twitter account spoke about this policy and said that in continuation with PM Modi initiative of Digital India, Goa today is very proud to declare and unveil its IT policy and we are going into a new era. And ensuring that Goa is entering the digital world first in India and also e-governance of which youth will take advantage of getting them employed.

Briefing media along with Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai after a cabinet meeting, IT Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the policy focuses on better future for Goan youth in the IT and the IT-enabled sectors and making the state the first choice for investments in IT and related sectors.

He said that the Goa IT policy 2018 will be unveiled at the Goa IT day event to be held on July 14 and 15.

 

Khaunte said that the Goa IT day event will be held at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) complex. The event will see over 1,000 plus key stakeholders from IT, ITeS, corporates, startups, students, media and government coming together and celebrating the spirit of IT, innovations and skilling.

The Goa IT policy will have provision for growth and development of Goa, its human capital and to foster the growth of smaller businesses. It will delve with issues like development of Technology Park, ready-to-move-in warm.
