Easing visa restrictions; India, Bangladesh join hands with Revised Travel Agreement

Dhaka, July 16: Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Bangladesh saw a wide spectrum of strengthening relations with meeting PM Sheikh Hasina and also inaugurating the world’s largest visa center easing application of Visa. Apart from this, easing visa restrictions for citizens of Bangladesh, India on Sunday signed a revised travel agreement with Bangladesh.

Signing the revised travel agreement, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Bangladesh's Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan opened a wide door of opportunities for their citizens. Under the Revised Travel Arrangement (RTA)-2018, freedom fighters and elderly Bangladeshi nationals will get 5-year multiple visas from India.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Bangladesh Home Minister held the 6th Home Minister Level Talks between India and Bangladesh. Apart from that Rajnath Singh offered prayers at Dhakeshwari Temple there. He also visited Bangabandhu Museum where paid tributes to the father of the Nation of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Rajnath Singh tweeted, “Deeply moved to see the site where he and his family members were martyred. His contribution to Bangladesh and South Asia will always be remembered.”

Deepening the ties between India and Bangladesh, the minister elaborated India’s presence in the neighboring nations. The three-day visit encompassed the relations with consolidating the diplomatic relations. Bilateral talks enhancing the future scope, inaugurating the largest Visa Center in Dhaka and easing the restrictions for Bangladesh citizen by signing the travel agreement boosted relations of the two countries.
