Fulfilling dreams with immense opportunities, PM Modi dedicates Bansagar Canal Project to Mirzapur

Mirzapur, July 16: “Setting a resolution for New India, the people of the country will be enabled with each and every facility. Medicines for the poor, education for children, irrigation to farmers, employment for the youth will be made available for all with immense leveled up systems,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the public of Mirzapur launching the Bansagar Canal Project on Sunday.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Mirzapur Medical College and also inaugurated 108 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which offered generic medicines at affordable prices, under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) and a bridge over river Ganga, which will improve connectivity between Mirzapur and Varanasi.

 

While addressing a public rally in Mirzapur, PM Modi highlighted various factors carried by the government for the betterment of the people. The PM acclaimed that his government is working day and night for the development of the farmers of this country to double the income of farmers of this country by 2022. He also urged farmers of this country to take maximum advantage of government schemes for them to double their income.

 

Taking a jibe at the opposition, PM Modi stated that those who were indulging in politics now in the name of farmers had no time to raise the prices of MSP (Minimum Support Price). They sat on those files. BJP has increased MSP by 1.5 times. UP and other farmers of Purvanchal will benefit a lot from this decision.

Inaugurating the Bansagar Canal Project, PM Modi promised that the project will fulfill the dreams of people of this region. A 300 crore project which started in 70's has been completed after spending Rs 3,500 crore today. This project will provide a big boost to irrigation in the region and will be greatly beneficial for the farmers of Mirzapur and Allahabad districts of Uttar Pradesh.

 

PM Modi further commented on the oppositions stating, “Those who are shedding crocodile tears for farmers today should be asked that why the irrigation projects were left incomplete throughout the nation during their tenure." He added that the previous governments used to come up with incomplete projects and stall them. You are the people who suffered through all of that. Had this project been completed beforehand, you would have been benefitted by it two decades back.

Since the time BJP-NDA government has come to power, the development work in Purvanchal has accelerated and its results can be seen by everyone today. PM Modi also spoke of the measures taken to provide affordable healthcare to the poor, including Jan Aushadhi Kendras. He said the Swachh Bharat Mission is also proving effective in controlling the disease. He said the health assurance scheme - Ayushman Bharat would be rolled out soon. He also spoke of other social welfare schemes of the Union Government.

 

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present at the event, said, "13 medical colleges were built all together in UP since independence. PM Modi has given 13 medical colleges including AIIMS and Cancer Treatment Institute in just four years.”
