Fake time bomb recovered from Rajkot’s GIDC area; timely diffused

Rajkot, July 16: Though it was a fake bomb, however, it would have hurt some lives in Rajkot’s GIDC area as the quick and timely action from the bomb squad team averted a major miss-happening on Friday.

 

A fake bomb was found near a cement factory in Rajkot's GIDC area which was successfully diffused by bomb squad team after it was spotted by the owner’s driver. Notably, this area is one of the major industrial areas where factories and manufacturing units are located.

The IG of Rajkot range said, “Driver of the owner of this factory had spotted the bomb. After bomb squad defused the bomb we came to know that no explosive material was present in it. Further, the investigation is underway.”

Importantly, this is a second time when a bomb is recovered from Gujarat in a week time. On Friday last week, Gujarat police recovered 16 crude bombs and a pistol from a notorious bootlegger near Gomatipur area in Ahmedabad.

The bootlegger was identified as Safiq Sandhi and is infamous in Gomatipur area for anti-social activities including that of dealing in illicit liquor.
