Chhattisgarh, July 16: Being a first for the state and perhaps the country, Madhya Pradesh has welcomed a positive change in bringing in social change in the country. As many as 68 children who have been diagnosed with HIV positive have got admission in private schools.

According to the rules lined by the Right to Education Act, the private schools have given a positive example for all the other schools and the society to eliminate discrimination among the children. According to RTE rules, private schools need to reserve 25% seats for children belonging to economically weaker section and financially low groups. In the month of May, last year, the Supreme Court had directed all the states to include kids with HIV positive in schools under the RTE benefits.

The provisions for the children will be made available so that the children will have a protected environment and will be entitled to special provisions under the RTE benefits. The schools in Madhya Pradesh have sought out a resolution that no child will face any discrimination. The law bars schools from discriminating against HIV+ children, denying access to benefits, or segregating them in the study, sports, playground, and canteen areas.

SC’s landmark decision has benefitted nearly 3 lakh HIV affected children in the country. Slashing the discrimination, the state of Madhya Pradesh has brought in many changes with this decision. Every child is important and their rights have to be of prime importance to be fulfilled.

Fulfilling every dream and enabling the required opportunity of education, the children will have a positive outlook towards everyone. With this, the society also has to accept the change and have an optimistic thinking towards all.
