Superstar Rajani welcomes ‘One Nation, One Election’; backs Salem-Chennai green corridor

Chennai, July 16: Applauding the idea of ‘One Nation, One Election’ coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Superstar Rajinikanth said that successful implementation of the simultaneous election would reduce huge poll expenditure and precious time.

Speaking to the media at his residence here, the actor welcomed the proposed move by the Central government.

The actor turned politician extended support for the much anticipated eight-lane Salem-Chennai green corridor.

Rajani opined that such projects would boost the industrial investments in the coastal state. He suggested government agencies to look after the matter of land acquisition and rehabilitation judiciously.

He underlined that Project should be implemented without hampering the livelihood of farmers and other people. The Central government has cleared the eight-lane expressway with the budget of ₹10,000 crore.

On several occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the frequency of elections in the country. He also underlined the administrative problems associated with the model code of conduct. The Prime Minister has urged citizens to debate on the issue of simultaneous elections.
