Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reviews flood situation; says no change in PM Modi’s programme

Gandhinagar, July 17: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gujarat schedule has not been deferred. Rupani maintained that state government after consulting with central agencies will take a call on  PM Modi’s programme.

On July 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit his home state where will visit Ahmedabad and Junagadh in Saurashtra region.

Amidst state-wide heavy raining, several reports on social media were surfaced about the alleged change in proposed Gujarat tour of PM Modi

On Monday, Rupani Visited State Emergency Operation Centre at Gandhinagar and took stock of preparedness for tackling the situation arising out of possible heavy rains in different parts of the state. The Gujarat Chief Minister along with key officers will take an aerial review of the flood-affected region.

Rupani also initiated a telephonic conversation with district administration of heavily affected Gir Somnath and Una and gave directions for effective relief-rescue works.

Fifteen teams of NDRF have been deployed to rescue the people stranded in various regions. 24x7 State and District level Control Rooms have been constituted to keep a tap on flood affected areas

Currently, districts like Valsad, Navsari, Junagadh, Amreli, Gir-Somnath are facing flood-like situation due to heavy rains.
