Kumaraswamy responds to Jaitley; says tragedy king working hard for farmers

Bengaluru, July 18: Days after Union Minister Arun Jaitley’s tragedy king jibe, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy slammed Jaitley over his recent blog and questioned the achievements of the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As quoted by Deccan Chronicle, in response to Jaitley’s tragedy king remark, the Karnataka Chief Minister dubbed Modi as a robust leader and said, “What has that robust leader has done for farmers? ”.

Underlining the achievements of JD(S)- Congress government, Kumaraswamy mentioned the ambitious loan waving scheme. “I have waived Rs 40,000 crore farmers' loan. Has PM Modi done that?" asked HDK

When asked about the criticism around the fuel price hike, the JD(S) leader stated that political detractors were busy in targeting state government but nobody took objections to the Central government for increasing fuel tariff for nine times.

The Chief Minister also took objection to the media reports and termed it as the deliberate attempt of misquoting.

Today, in his recent media interaction Kumaraswamy stated that he did not refer Congress party or any of its leader. He admitted that he failed to control his emotions. He further added that media gave a spin to his narration.

Several Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharage had expressed displeasure over Kumaraswamy’s comment on coalition govt.

Earlier, Kumaraswamy came under fire over his recent remarks on the functioning of JD(S)- Congress government.

Referring to ongoing developments in JD(S)- Congress government, Kumaraswamy said “I’m swallowing my pain, which is nothing more than poison”

On Monday, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Arun Jaitley in his Facebook post took a dig at incumbent Chief Minister and dubbed him as tragedy king.
