JK police seize huge cache of ammunition from Pulwama’s resident

Srinagar, July 18: Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday busted a terrorist hideout and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition during the searches in Dangerpora Arihal village of Pulwama. This comes days after the Indian Army killed one terrorist after a fierce encounter that took place at Kandi forest area in North Kashmir's Kupwara district.

 

The spokesperson said that after getting a specific input, Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama police team launched a search operation at the house of Bilal Ahmad Ganai who resides in Dangerpora Arihal village and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition.

Besides detonating material, connecting wires, electric chargers, batteries, mobile phones and remote control activating devices and some items marked with symbols of Pakistan were seized.

Separately searches were also carried at village Naina Batapora and during searches, a Chinese pistol, 7 live rounds 9 mm, 01 magazines and 01 7.62 mm round was recovered from the possession of Sabzar Ahmad Mir resident of Khellan. Subsequently, cases were registered in both the seizures and the accused persons were taken in custody for further investigation.

On July 6, Indian Army busted an arms dump in a forest area in Poonch district and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 11 IEDs. Besides the Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), two AK assault rifles, three pistols, three rounds of rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) and four Chinese hand grenades were recovered from the spot.
