As many as 100 terrorists killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir so far this year

New Delhi, July 19: As many as one hundred terrorists were killed while 43 security personnel were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir in the first six months of this year. This was said by State Home Minister Hansraj Ahir in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

 

In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Minister Hansraj Ahir said that 100 terrorists were killed while 43 security personnel were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir from January to June this year. He further said that Jammu and Kashmir saw 256 incidents of violence while 16 civilians were killed.

The State Home Minister further noted that in the year 2017, a total of 342 incidents of violence were reported in Jammu and Kashmir while 213 terrorists were eliminated. “A total of 80 security personnel and 40 civilians lost their lives last year,” Minister Ahir added.

According to the data provided by the minister, 82 security personnel were martyred in the year 2016, 15 civilians while 150 terrorists were gunned down in the Jammu and Kashmir. “The valley witnessed 322 cases of terrorist violence,” he noted.

The Minister, in the end, said that 2 youth from other States of the country have been found involved in stone pelting in Jammu and Kashmir and in this regard, two FIRs have been registered in 2018.
