South Korea President Moon Jae-in to visit India from July 8 for 3 days

New Delhi, July 2: President of South Korea Moon Jae-in will visit India from 8th to 11th of this month. In a release, External Affairs Ministry said, during the visit, a ceremonial reception will be accorded to President Moon. He will also hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


 

The two leaders will hold discussions on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues of shared interest with a view to further strengthen the Special Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

Moon met with Modi on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit in July 2017 and held a summit meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in November.

President Moon will meet with President Ram Nath Kovind and hold a summit with Prime Minister Modi, and discuss ways to strengthen strategic partnership and expand future-oriented cooperation.

According to Kim, Moon’s visit will bring the New Southern Policy, which aims to expand the country’s economic and political cooperation with countries to the south and southeast, into full swing.

“India’s economy is developing at the fastest pace and rising as a major power, and (it is) central to our government’s New Southern Policy,” Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said.
