New Delhi, July 20: WhatsApp will now have a limit for forwarding messages. This social media company informed on Thursday that he will soon set the limits for forwarding messages on his platform. This decision comes after the warning given by our government.

The company said in a blog post that it is testing the limits for forwarding messages on WhatsApp in India, where the most messages and videos are forwarded worldwide. The company plans to issue the message for forwarding the message to India. In addition to being seen next to the message, the removal of the "quick forward" button is also being considered.

At the same time, the company will forward the message limit for 20 in the Global version of WhatsApp. It is worth noting that in India, the use of WhatsApp has been used by political parties to connect with the public. WhatsApp is the most important contribution of forwarding message.

WhatsApp has responded indicating their initiative to mark forwarded messages and to step up efforts to detect fake news because of such incidents like an unfortunate incident has occurred in Bidar where a 32-year-old software engineer Mohammed Azam was killed and this was preceded by viral circulation of rumors on Whatsapp about child lifters. It is regretted that the enormity of the challenge and the rampant abuse happening in the country leading to the repeated commissioning of crimes pursuant to the rampant circulation of irresponsible messages in large volumes on their platform have not been addressed adequately by Whatsapp.

Reports in the media resonate the general sentiment that there is much more that needs to be done by Whatsapp. There is a need for bringing in traceability and accountability when a provocative/inflammatory message is detected and a request is made by law enforcement agencies. When rumors and fake news get propagated by mischief mongers, the medium used for such propagation cannot evade responsibility and accountability. If they remain, mute spectators, they are liable to be treated as abettors and thereafter face consequent legal action.
