Expressing displeasure over the development, Naidu said that Maratha outfits have their right to protest for voicing their concern, but denying entry to Chief Minister Fadnavis was highly unacceptable. The Vice- President urged people to introspect about the extreme reaction against the head of the state.
Earlier, pro-Maratha outfits had declared that they would stall the Pooja performed by the Maharashtra Chief Minister for not addressing the issues raised by Maratha groups.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister was supposed to perform the traditional Pooja at Pandharpoor. Anticipating the law and order problem, Fadnavis canceled the scheduled programme and performed Pooja at his official residence.
In Maharashtra, Maratha outfits are staging a state-wide protest on the demand of 16% reservation in jobs and education. According to media reports, workers of Maratha Kranti Morcha today set a truck on fire in Aurangabad's Gangapur.
