Srinagar, July 24: Kashmir is now slowly and steadily coming on the right track now as the youth are rejecting terrorism, radicalization, stone pelting and returning to the mainstream. Notably, one more Kashmiri boy shunned the path of violence, terrorism and joined his family on Monday.

A Kashmiri youth surrendered after his parents appealed him to shun the path of violence and terrorism and return to home. However, the details of the surrendered terrorist have been kept a secret in order to ensure the security of the youth.

Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, "With the help of community one more joins his family and shuns the path of violence."

So far over dozens of youth have laid down their arms following the appeals from their parents and return of Majid. Security forces last year announced that they will accept an offer to surrender of local terrorist even during ongoing encounters.

Majid surrendered to the police on 17 of November last year. He was a student and a popular football goalkeeper who later joined Laskar-e-Toiba terror outfit. After Majid, many youths from Kashmir who had joined militancy returned home. According to the official sources, as many as 206 terrorists were killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017 of which 85 were residents of the valley.
