Two Lashkar terrorists eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district

Srinagar, July 26: At least two terrorists belonged to Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit were eliminated on Wednesday after a fierce encounter that took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag. The body of two slain terrorists along with arms and ammunition were recovered from the encounter spot.

 

Security forces including the joint team of Army, CRPF and State Police led the operation and cordoned off the Lal Chowk area of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir after getting a specific input of presence of few terrorists. During the fierce gun battle, two terrorists were eliminated.

The arms and ammunition including 2 AK47 rifles, grenades and other explosive materials were recovered. The body of slain terrorists has also been recovered and the counter-terrorism operation is called off. The terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba terror outfit but their identification ascertain yet.


This comes three days after security forces took the revenge of killing Jammu and Kashmir police constable Muhammad Saleem Shah within 12 hours by eliminating three terrorists. On July 23, one more Kashmiri boy shunned the path of violence, terrorism and joined his family.

According to the official sources, so far over 100 terrorists have been eliminated in Jammu and Kashmir. As many as 206 terrorists were killed by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017 of which 85 were residents of the valley.
