New Delhi, July 26: Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party a Key NDA Partner has intensified its protest against the newly appointed NGT Chairman Justice AK Goyal. On several platforms, the regional outfit has openly opposed Goyal for his ruling against the SC/ST Act.

According to the latest development, Chirag Paswan, son of Ram Vilas Paswan who represents Jamui segment in Lok Sabha urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter of Goyal’s new responsibility.

In an official communication, LJP’s Parliamentary Party chairman has sought the removal of newly appointed NGT head. Referring to prevailing resentments against Goyal’s move, the Jamui lawmaker has cautioned the government that protests by Dalit groups might hamper the law and order situation across the country.

Commenting on the Supreme Court’s ruling on the SC/ST act, Paswan urged ruling party to address the contentious issue with the immediate promulgation of an ordinance in order to safeguard the interest of weaker section.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Udit Raj also aired his concern over AK Goyal’s elevation. Various social and political outfits have accused Justice Goyal of weakling the crucial SC/ST Act and demanding the removal of a controversial judge.

According to media reports, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan wrote a letter to Home Minister Rajnath Singh and conveyed reservations about AK Goyal.
