Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis to convene all-party meeting on Maratha stir

Mumbai, July 27: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has decided to convene an all-party meeting on the backdrop of ongoing Maratha protest.

On Saturday, party leaders of both the Houses will discuss the issues associated with Maratha reservation. The meeting will be held in Vidhan Sabha. This move was announced after the brainstorming session of top state BJP leaders.

Speaking to the media, senior BJP leader and PWD Minister Chandrakant Patil informed that Maratha reservation and law and order situation in the state will be the main agenda of the all-party meeting.

On this occasion, Patil denied the reports of change of guard in the state and hailed the leadership of Chief Minister Fadnavis. According to media reports, seven MLAs have tendered their resignation in Support of Maratha reservation.

The senior Minister came under the fire for his comments on Maratha reservation protestors. The Minister had blamed anti-social elements for triggering violent activities in the name of protest.

The members of Maratha community have been protesting across the state demanding 16% reservation in government jobs and education.
