Gandhinagar, July 31: This year, Surendranagar district will witness the state-level celebration of Independence Day.
On the occasion of 72nd Independence Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will unfurl the National flag. During his short visit, Rupani will dedicate several development programmes for Surendranagar.
Gujarat Dy Chief Minister Nitin Patel will grace the Independence Day programme at Vadodara whereas Assembly Speaker Rajendra Trivedi will be in Bhavnagar district.

The precedent of celebrating Independence day outside the state capital was set by the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Last year, state-level Independence Day programme was held in Vadodara.
