John Abraham likely to play ACP Rathod in the sequel of Aamir Khan’s Sarfarosh

Mumbai, July 31: If reports are anything to go by, makers of Aamir Khan-Sonali bender starrer action-thriller Sarfarosh are planning for a sequel. As quoted by Mid-day, John Matthew Matthan, director of Sarfarosh is working on the script of Sarfarosh 2 where he is likely to team up with John Abraham for the role of ACP Ajay Singh Rathod, helmed by Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan.
The 1999 cop drama was based on cross-border terrorism where ace actor Naseeruddin Shah had essayed the character of Gulfam Hassan, an artist turned ISI agent. The report further states that the second version will deal with the issues of Naxal movement and red corridor in India.

The 1999 police genre film was remade in Kannada and Telugu. In Kannada, it was titled as Sathyameva Jayathe in which actor Devaraj had donned the character of ACP Rathod. The Telugu version was introduced as Astram starring Vishnu Manchu and Anushka Shetty.
Last seen in Parmanu, the action drama based on the iconic story of Pokharan atomic test, John will be seen in “Satyameve Jayate ” a socio-political drama along with Manoj Vajpayee. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the movie will hit the big screens on August 15. The Handsome hunk is also gearing up for his first Marathi Production Savita Madhav Paranjape, starring Subodh Bhave and Trupti Toradmal.
